Accel World: Why So Much Hate?

Hello Mina-san!

If you guys didn't know, Accel World is a manga and anime made by the same author of Sword Art Online, actually Accel World was released before SAO. Both of these fantastic manga have gorgeous graphic and a very catchy plot, then why is it that Accel World has always been in the shadow of SAO?

Kirito and Asuna from Sword Art Online
As I mentioned before Accel World was released before SAO and they both have the same stupendous graphics and a few similarities regarding the plot and especially the Nerve Gear but the reason why SAO had more success is probably because although I don't want to admit it, Accel World's plot is quite shallow and lacks in depth. The first two arcs totally drew me inside Accel World and I really liked their original way to make time seem slower by accelerating the body functions and making you move faster instead than slowing down time, but the third arc was were everything went downhill. The Dusk Robber Arc or Third Arc, introduces a new antagonist, Dusk Taker who is able to steal other Duel Avatar's abilities and guess what? Yes, you're right! Silver Crow was robbed of his wings by Dusk Taker!

Silver Crow and Kuroyukihime from Accel World
Yes, it was unexpected to see Silver Crow lose it's wings but it doesn't make up for the uselessness of this arc, it has no links whatsoever to the main story plot and almost felt like a filler, the author tried in vain to make this arc more interesting by adding the blackmail scene where Seiji Noumi threatens Arita (Protagonist) to expose to everyone the fact that he accidentally sneaked into the girl's baths in school.

Dusk Taker from Accel World

Now, we are not here to bad mouth Accel World but to expose it's good points and why it shouldn't be so underrated because although Sword Art Online is almost a "legendary" anime, it has quite a lot of plot holes which I will not mention because I don't want to hurt the feelings of those who watched it and enjoyed it (more like my feelings :P).

The combat animations are amazing in both and so is the action but the main difference between these two Anime is that in Accel World, the protagonist has to work his way up from the bottom and gets stronger after every fight. The Incarnate System was also pretty cool in Accel World and I really liked the few episodes in which Arita tried to fly just with the help of imagination and sheer willpower.

Silver Crow using the Incarnate System

The two main factors that differentiate the scale of success of these two Anime are the romance and the main characters, come on if I asked you to choose between Arita and Kuroyukihime or Kirito and Asuna, I bet that the latter would be the most chosen. Although Black Lotus was pretty cool, it wasn't enough to make the anime fans overlook the great heroine difference and that was really a let down. I don't even want to start talking about the romance because SAO has no competition in this area, I mean how many Anime have been able to achieve such a great balance between original story plot, breathtaking action and a traditional, almost archaic guy-saves-chick romance in one anime? The answer is almost zero, so I'm sorry to say but SAO beats Accel World in almost every area except of the character's skills development but this doesn't mean that Accel World is an anime that you shouldn't watch, actually this shows how even an anime thought to be mediocre such as Accel World could actually be the one anime that you are looking and if you want my opinion, I had a blast going through the episodes of Accel World and I would almost dare to say that I enjoyed just as much as SAO but ... let's keep it real because that would be a bit too far-stretched.

Manga That Almost Made Me Cry

Konbanwa Mina-san!

First I wanted to apologise for the lack of posts yesterday, I've been quite busy and didn't have time to write so I decided to wait for today rather than giving you a half baked post.

Now moving on, what is the saddest manga to you? I've been asked this question by King Aki a few days ago and after going through some old manga that I completed, I might have found the answer. Here is a list of manga, or at least moments in a manga which I found tear jerking and almost made me cry, please enjoy ^^

Cross Game

Cross Game is a must read which I'm certain that most of you will enjoy, focused on baseball but still had romance in it, I totally loved it! The reason it made me cry was because one of the Tsukishima sisters and also the girl that the main character liked, died in one of the first chapters after telling him that she dreamt of him being the pitcher at Koshien Stadium and this encouraged the main character to take baseball seriously. I really wished for them two to go out but instead she died, and it was an accident too! Well I can't complain anymore because Cross Game has a good ending which makes up for the loss of  Tsukishima.

Wolf Guy

Wolf guy is another amazing manga which I randomly found and saved me from my "dark days" where I couldn't find any manga that would ignite that spark which resides in each reader and when ignited becomes a blazing fire that incites you to burn through the chapters one by one. Fortunately, in this manga there are no sad deaths that will make your eyes teary, but instead the frustration of seeing something bad happening without being able to do anything about it.

The main character's teacher is captured by one of the students which turns out to be part of a yakuza family and then is thrown into a room, drugged and then raped by numerous many. As if it wasn't enough, the yakuza record these acts of debauchery and show it to the whole world, although the main character tries to rush and save the girl, he only gets there when she had already been sullied and having lost her mind to the drug, she opens her legs for him before knowing that it was her student. This was really sad and it really struck me hard, but don't worry guys! Our Wolf Guy beats up everyone and makes sure to humiliate them thoroughly and I also want to say that it's a good manga with badass protagonist.

Now we don't want you to start crying too T_T so I'll stop for now and ask King Aki the same question: what is the saddest anime to you? I think that we are all looking forward to your answer and hope to see a post about this topic soon and oh! Before I forget, I just finished reading Kingdom and now I feel like my life has no further meaning and I'm in great need for a new manga to read. If you know any good manga which I might of missed (I probably read most of the well known manga by now), please leave your recommendations below in the comments section.

Kingdom Manga

Mina-san!

Have you ever stumbled upon a manga which you've seen several times in the "hot manga" or "latests updates" sections of manga hosting websites such as Mangafox and Mangahere? Well I have! And 9 out of 10 times I have been very satisfied with the manga! I'm a reader which is easily fooled by the manga's cover picture or it's description and this is the reason why I'm writing this post to inform you about Kingdom, an amazing ... Wait! What am I saying! Kingdom is an excellent manga that I would recommend to anyone!

Now, what is Kingdom about? Kingdom is a manga focused on the Chinese warring state period and follows Shin, a mere servant climbing the ranks from foot soldier to becoming a "Great General of the Heavens" whose name will be sung throughout all of China. Shin's journey begins when his closest friend who was also like a brother to him, Hyou, is scouted to work in the King's palace as a servant. Later in the chapters Hyou is killed and Shin listens to his dying words and set off to a nearby village inhabited by bandits. Shin annihilated everyone who dared to cross his path and when he reached the rendezvous place met the King of Qin, who coincidentally looks the same as Hyou and thus Shin embarks in a journey to protect the King of Qin which is a stepping stone to the path of Shin's dream: to become a Great General of the Heavens.

When adventure, action and history are fused together, a great manga comes out of it! Kingdom is one of the few manga that actually draws you into the heat of the battle and I'm sure that its worth giving it a try. If you are a fan of badass moments and strong main characters, then Kingdom is the right manga for you because Shin is totally wicked! There is also the mountain tribe warriors which I consider as my favourite characters because of their toughness during fights and how they keep on fighting and fighting even after being pierced by many arrows, there are so many strong characters that even the horses are total badass!  Although there are many amazing warriors in Kingdom, number one place is accredited to the Generals. They just go berserk on the battlefield and decimate the opposing army by swinging their gigantic glaive as they ride their mighty steed.

The only letdown is the lack of romance, sorry to ruin your expectations but there will be no princess rescuing and then princess x main character because Shin is a total blockhead! But don't worry! Because to make up for the lack of romance there are is a fair amount of comedy and the bonus manga are also great!

Overall, Kingdom is an excellent manga and is a one of a kind manga packed with action and focused on Chinese historical warfare from the warring states period. I recommend this manga to everyone so do give it a try!

My personal rating is a fantastic 9.6/10

Fairy Tail: 3 Funny Moments

Konbanwa Mina-san!

Announcement to those who still don't know yet, the Anime Fairy Tail is coming back next month, on April. I think the exact date that Fairy Tail will air is on April 5. Now I'm going to show you 3 funny scenes that made me laugh so much from the anime Fairy Tail.

1. Mirajane "Bad Girl"

I chose it as the first one because I still cannot forget this scene. This scene can only be seen on the Anime because it's a filler, I think for me this is the funniest one because I like Mirajane. She's so strong and she's one of the S-Class wizard in Fairy Tail and also a model in a magazine in Fairy Tail ^-^. I still laugh whenever I see the pictures of this scene because she gave huge damage to Mary Hughes and then I really thought she's going to crush that girl's head with Demon Halphas but she only said "Bad Girl."

2. Happy teasing Erza

This is another funny moment from Fairy Tail which you may encounter often in the Fairy Tail page on Facebook. This is the finishing part of the Galuna Island Arc, this is when Natsu, Gray, Lucy, and Erza (later joined the mission) to help the people of Galuna Island and remove the curse. Erza was having an emotional moment, then Happy was just drawing something and when Erza saw the drawing, she just kicked Happy to the moon because he drew a broken heart.

3. Natsu tickles Erza

Another scene that made me laugh is when Natsu tickled Erza after fighting against Jellal, she couldn't move because she was exhausted. Of course Natsu saved Erza, but because Erza said that she couldn't move and thus they were not able to go home, Natsu had the brilliant idea to tickle Erza because she was defenseless and Natsu it was a payback for when she tickled him and that it was time for revenge. Their facial expressions always make me burst into laughter.

Scariest Manga I read

Mina-san!

I've been sick the past two days and was forced to bed, so I apologise for not being able to post anything recently, but now that I've regained my strengths, I'm ready to restart posting!

As my first post after recovery, I will write about a few manga that I pretty creepy and scary, of course they won't be anything like The Exorcist or Paranormal Activity, but they made these manga made me shiver at some points of the story.

1. Doubt & Judge

Doubt and Judge are two different manga with strong plot similarities because they've been made by the same author. In both manga, the main characters play a popular mobile phone game about a wolf disguised as a group of rabbits and hiding in their colony, every turn the players have to vote on a rabbit they think is the wolf and at the end, the rabbit with most votes is killed, if all rabbits are killed except of the disguised wolf, then the game ends. But what would happen if the game turns into reality?  Unpredictable events and unexpected plot twists are what make Doubt and Judge great horror manga.

2. Uzumaki

Uzumaki has nothing to do with Naruto, it's a horror manga revolving around a town cursed by the spiral, the mysterious and hypnotic shape of the world. This manga is seriously scary! Like not because of monsters and other mystical creatures, but because what people do to each other and the way the spiral affects its victims. The artist has done a great job with the artwork, he has been able to perfectly create a city with a dark and horrendous atmosphere. This is a must read!

3. Fuan No Tane

I wanna start by saying that I regret reading this manga. Fuan No Tane is based on urban legends and it was really scary, although every story is about 5 or less pages, it gave me the creeps because it was somewhat not too unrealistic. It's kind of sad that manga with really scary stories can not actually make you scream of fear because they like surprise effects and virtual sounds to set in the mood. But Fuan No Tane was totally kuwoi!

This concludes my brief list of scary manga, I'm sure you guys know better because I haven't read many horror manga and these are the only few which could actually be considered as scary. If you know anymore feel free to post it in the comments section below and share your otaku expertise with us!

Manga Genres

Hello Mina!

In my days as an "amateur" reader I had troubles with manga genres because I didn't know the meaning of those Japanese words and I've always been curious to find out. Of course, now that I know what they mean, I can choose my manga more effectively and to save you the trouble to google the meaning, I've put every manga genre that you can possibly come across in this post, just for you readers!

Shounen: Means boy, and is generally used to mark manga with loads of action and more targeted to a male audience. Great examples of Shounen manga would be Naruto and Bleach.

Shoujo: Exact opposite of Shounen, therefore it means girl and are typically manga with a romance or a female main character. Some Shoujo manga are Skip Beat and Dangeky Daisy.

Ecchi: More like a sub-genre, but these are manga with some erotic contact such as panty shots or cleavage. You can find this in quite a lot of manga so I don't really have any specific recommendations for this genre.

Mecha: Science fiction genre focused around robots and machines. Mecha manga that come to mind are Suisei no Gargantia and Infinite Stratos.

Doujinshi: These are fan-made manga or amateur manga often derived from other works. I don't really read manga of this genre, but if you are interested you can find a list of Doujinshi at Mangahere.

Harem: Typically manga with a main male character surrounded by female characters that have either live with him or like him. There is also Reverse Harem where the gender are inverses. Manga of this genre are Nisekoi and High School DxD.

Hentai: Usually means "perv" in Japanese, as you might of guessed these are manga with erotic and sexual content and again, I have no specific recommendations for this genre.

Yaoi & Yuri: Manga that involves sexual or intimate relationship between men (Yaoi) or between women (Yuri).

Seinen & Josei: Manga targeted to a mature male audience (Seinen) or to a mature female audience (Josei), can possibly have sexual content.

Smut: Manga considered controversial or offensive, mainly targeted for a mature audience.

This is pretty much it Mina! If there are still genres which I might have forgotten, you can warn me through the comments.

Oyasuminasai.

Holyland Manga

Konbanwa Mina-san!

I'm currently reading Holyland, an awesome manga about street fights. The reason why I decided to write about this Manga is because it's pretty different than other many manga of the same genre. It is, as you could guess, an action packed fighting manga but it's really realistic and there is always a detailed explanation of what happens during the fights in the manga, such as the tactics the characters use during the street fights and the amount of damage dealt.

Yuu is a high school kid who doesn't really fit in anywhere and in the beginning of the Manga with see him take down a supposedly strong thug with a genius one-two boxing technique. As the story progresses, Yuu becomes more famous in the streets and street fighters start calling him the "Thug Hunter," although Yuu is more like the prey than the hunter during the street fights. Holylands has a great character development and I really loved the plot twists in which sometimes the opponents become allies or where the assailant becomes the victim.

I have to admit, that the fights are pretty harsh and violent, but this is what makes Holyland great! I also love the fact that Yuu becomes pretty overpowered later in the manga and can take on 3 or even more opponents at the same time. Although Holyland is pretty much focused around fighting, there is no need to worry for people who love romance because there are a few hints of love in the manga and some really nice guy-protects-girl parts too, but when i say a few hints I really mean a subtle amount of love and romance.

Telling you more about Holyland would just spoil your reading experience so I will refrain myself from blurting the whole story plot :")

You can read Holyland at Mangahere or Mangafox (don't be fooled by the cover images, the artwork is better than that).

My personal rating is a whopping 8.9/10

Top 5: One Piece's Epic Moments

Konbanwa Mina-san~
Ogenki Desu Ka?

One Piece
One Piece is one of my favorites because it's the Anime that made me addicted to Anime/Manga. One Piece is actually the first manga that I read. It was also my first summer in London that I got addicted to Anime/Manga, so I got interested in One Piece because many people recommended me to start watching anime or reading manga, so I downloaded all the episodes of the Anime of One Piece. I watched it the whole summer all 600+ episodes and then I got addicted to it. After I finished watching One Piece and get into the latest episode, I started to read the Manga which led me to do drawings, which I never thought of doing because I used to be so bad at drawing. So now, I'm gonna talk about the great and epic moments in One Piece that was Amazing and Interesting things that happened and also the twists that Eiichiro Oda added.

5. Luffy Challenges Big Mom

My #5 is when Luffy challenges Big Mom in the Fishman Island. Big Mom is one of the 4 Yonkos (Emperors). They're the 4 pirates who rules the New World so everyone is afraid of them. To protect Fishman Island, the King made a deal with Big Mom to replace Whitebeard's flag because he died due to the war to save one of his crew members, Portgas D. Ace. Due to Whitebeard's death, chaos invades Fishman Island because Whitebeard used his flag to protect the island, thus the King of Fishman Island had no choice but to make a deal with Big Mom: for 10 Tons of Sweets that she likes, Big Mom will put her flag on Fishman Island. After the Mugiwara Pirates saved the Fishman Island, it was also the time the 10 tons of sweet had to be delivered to Big Mom. The machines to make the candies were all destroyed, so the other candies that have been made before the destruction were given to the Mugiwaras to celebrate saving the Fishman Island, but the Big Mom Pirates needed the candy for the Big Mom's tea party. So as soon as Luffy heard that Big Mom is going to destroy the Fishman Island if there are no sweets to pay Big Mom, he bravely answered the phone and gave his name and told his dream about being the Pirate King. It was just awesome. It's always badass when he does something like this, fearlessly challenging an opponent stronger than him. Luffy then ended the conversation by saying that he's going to make Fishman Island his. It always gives me goosebumps when Luffy just says something so straightforwardly without hesitating or anything else.

4. Luffy Faces The Three Admirals

#4 is when Luffy faces the Three Admirals of the Marines. The Three Admirals are amongst the most powerful characters, so I considered this to be part of the epic moments because it's not normal for a pirate to just go start a war with the  Admirals,  because they would just die instantly. Luffy only survived this battle because of his friends and nakamas. For example, he allied with Boa Hancock, a Shichibukai (7 Warlords Of The Sea), and Jimbei, a former Shichibukai and also a friend of Ace. Luffy also allied with Whitebeard, who is also one of the Yonko and considered as the Most Powerful Pirate after the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger because he was the only one who could fight with him on par. Whitebeard decided to help Luffy because Ace is one of Whitebeard's crew commander and also Luffy's brother. Both of them loved Portgas D. Ace and he was important for both of them. Whitebeard thought that Ace was important because Ace is the only son of the Pirate King. So Whitebeard didn't want the Marine to touch Ace and that was what Luffy also wanted: not to let the Marine touch his brother. Luffy's and Whitebeard's main objective was to save Ace, however, in order to save Ace they had to face the powerful Three Admirals that always found a way to stop pirates due to their strong and powerful Devil's fruit powers. The Three fearsome admirals were  first faced by Luffy. Luffy's is just awesome because as you can see on the video, he was transported by Jimbei with his awesome Fishman Karate to go over the wall! However, Luffy didn't show any fear to the Three Admirals because he wasn't worried about fighting the Admirals, he was worried about how he would have saved Ace.

3. Zoro's Sacrifice

My #3 is when Zoro sacrifices to save Luffy when he was in a state near to death. Bartholomew Kuma who is also one of the Shichibukai, and also a formerly a Revolutionary with Luffy's father; Monkey D. Dragon, was also at the Thriller Bark after the Mugiwara Pirates finished battling with Moria, who is also one of the Shichibukai.  He showed up after the battle and after they gained their shadows back.Bartholomew suddenly throws dangerous attacks on them. All of them perished because they were no match for Bartholomew, they just had a fight with another Shichibukai so they didn't have enough strength to fight another powerful opponent. They were all taken down, but when Bartholomew tried to grab Luffy, Zoro suddenly attacked Bartholomew to protect his friend. This was the time when Zoro proved that he was a true nakama of Luffy by because trying persuading Kuma to kill him instead of killing his captain, Luffy. He also said that his head wasn't worth much yet, but he would eventually become the world's greatest swordsman and that if he couldn't even save his Captain's dream, then Zoro's dream would have been nothing but just talk. Instead of killing Zoro, Bartholomew removed all the pains and fatigue that Luffy had been through with the fight with Moria and made it into a big paw bubble as can see on the video. Bartholomew said that Zoro didn't have enough strength and life to absorb all the pain and the fatigue and sufferings from Luffy  would lead to Zoro's death. However, when Sanji wondered about how strange it was for Luffy to regain his strength and why was Zoro missing, he decided to look for Zoro. Finding Zoro standing with all the blood all over his body and still alive, this was why I considered this as one of the most epic moments in One Piece because Zoro was so badass, he withstood the pain and didn't tell anyone about what had happen.

2. Death of Whitebeard and Fire Fist Ace

#2 is are the deaths of Whitebeard and Ace. I put it in this top 5 because I really never thought that 2 badass characters were going to die at the same time. It gave me goosebumps when Ace died, and almost cried because he sacrificed himself to save Luffy. Akainu one of the Admirals was raging because he was freed by Crocodile, a former Shichibukai who fought with Luffy once and got his ass kicked in Alabasta. Luffy and Ace were fighting back to back against the Marine soldiers, then when Whitebeard announces that he will stay in Marineford, Whitebeard asked one last question to Ace. He asked if he was a good father to him and Ace answered 'Of Course'. After, when Luffy and Ace tried to escape with the Whitebeard Pirates, Akainu tried to provoke Ace by insulting Whitebeard as a failure. So Ace stopped running and went back to fight with Akainu. But Ace's fire was no match against Akainu's magma which burned Ace's arm. Then Akainu tried to kill Luffy who is defenseless, but instead of Luffy dying, Ace sacrificed by getting in between Luffy and Akainu and took the hit from Akainu. The thing that gave me goosebumps and that also made me cry was when you see Luffy's face when after Ace died and sacrificed himself to save his brother in front of him. Also when he said with his last words,

" Old man, everyone!! And you.. Luffy. Even though I've been good for nothing my whole life, even though I have the blood of a demon within me... You guys still loved me! Thank you so much!!"
Although  Whitebeard cried when he saw Ace died, Whitebeard himself was severely injured. Like when one of his crew members, Squard sneakily attacked him with a large katana. But Whitebeard forgived him and hugged him and told him that he's a fool and he still loves him but Whitebeard found out later that Akainu was the reason why Squard attacked Whitebeard. After Whitebeard saw Akainu killing Ace, he attacked Akainu immediately, damaging the admiral severely. When Whitebeard attacked Akainu the Marineford HQ also had been destroyed and because of this they saw that the Blackbeard Pirates were watching the whole fight hiding in the shadows. Blackbeard then greet Whitebeard by saying that he has come to see his death. Whitebeard then tried to attack Blackbeard but he dodged. Whitebeard then attacked him again, then choke him and Blackbeard asked him if he would kill his own son but Whitebeard already said before, that he doesn't consider Blackbeard as his son anymore because he killed Thatch, one of his crew commander, so Whitebeard just ignored him and just sent another attack to him making injuring him severely. Then Blackbeard commanded his crew to attack Whitebeard, after Blackbeard's pirates ran out of bullets, Whitebeard was still standing. He tells Blackbeard that he was not the one who Roger waited for, he then tells Sengoku, the Fleet Admiral who has a more powerful rank than the Admirals, that even through the bloodline of Roger, there will be some people that will inherit his will and died shouting that 'One Piece' exists making Sengoku angry. After saying farewell to his crew and allies, he died standing. Which also gave me goosebumps because he died strongly protecting his crews and still died standing up. He's a badass character and one of the saddest deaths that I saw on all the mangas that I read.

1. "Red-Haired" Pirate Shanks stops the War.

#1 is one of my favorite characters in One Piece, Shanks, the captain of the Red-Haired Pirates. He is one of my favorite characters because he is one of the strongest and the one who influenced Luffy and made him a pirate. He also sacrificed his own arm to save Luffy from a sea monster. Shanks is also one of the Yonko, just like Whitebeard. Shanks came after Coby shouted, Coby is one of the characters that Luffy had been friends with, and is now part of the marine just like he always wished. Coby shouted in front of Akainu, telling  everyone to stop fighting because he knew that the marines have families waiting for them, and that both sides are only wasting lives. After he told everything to stop everyone, Akainu then told him that he wasted seconds and that the Marines didn't need someone like him and then Akainu got ready to attack Coby. Before Akainu could attack Coby, Shanks just appeared from nowhere and defended Coby from Akainu's strike. Heroically, he said to Coby that the seconds he wasted were the seconds of courage that changed the fate of the world. He then picked up the straw-hat that he gave to that Luffy dropped during the battle and said that he came to end the war. When he came it was awesome because everyone was shocked and even Akainu was shocked because another one of the Yonko was in Marineford, even Garp, who hated him so much because he was the one that influenced his grandson to become a pirate instead of becoming a marine. He then called Buggy, which was one of his old mates when they were with Roger, the pirate king, to give the straw-hat to Luffy, and in return he would give him a treasure map, because he knew that Buggy loves treasures so much, so he quickly went to Law's submarine to give the hat. He is one of the baddest characters in One Piece because he threatened the marines by saying that if anyone wants to continue fighting, even the Blackbeard pirates, then himself and his crew will fight, but Blackbeard postponed the battle with Whitebeard because he was not yet prepared for fighting Whitebeard. When everybody stopped he said that he would take care of the body of the deceased, Ace and Whitebeard, for their funeral, because he was close to those two. So this is the reason I put it in the #1 spot because he was badass and threatened the whole Marines that his crew would fight against those who continue to fight.

Thanks for reading Mina-san! There still are a lot of Epic Moments from One Piece, but I think these are the best 5 as you just read. If you haven't read the manga or watched the anime, then you should because I know that you would enjoy it too.

My First Manga

Hey Mina-san!

My first manga ... ahhh! Sure brings back memories! I wouldn't be surprised if you have never heard of it, but the first manga that I ever read and finished was called Kurozakuro. Now when I say my first manga, I don't actually mean the first manga that I ever read, but the first manga that I finished reading (even though its incomplete).

My first manga: Kurozakuro

It was my first summer in London, I didn't really have any friends at that time but my cousin incited me to go and check out the library just by the corner of the street. Reluctantly I went ALONE, and you guys can't even imagine how much I hate going by myself, made a library card then decided I would go upstairs and pick up the first book I would find, and that was when I found Kurozakuro.

Unfortunately, the local library was pretty small, so all I found was the first volume of Kurozakuro, but I'm pretty happy that there wasn't a second volume because this pushed me to go and look online if you could actually read manga online! Can you believe it! I lived so many years without knowing that you could read manga online! No way! It was like a mind blow for me!

Me after learning about Mangahere and Mangareader

Anyways, getting back into topic, Kurozakuro talks about Sakurai Mikito, a wuss being constantly bullied and never fights back because he is too much of a coward to even hurt someone else. Everything changes when Mikito absorbs a mysterious sphere - Zakuro. Mikito soon begins to have weird feelings, almost like... a desire to eat humans. Will Mikito succumb to his desires? Or will he keep his cool and remain human? If you want to find out you should read this manga! It also has some slight allusions to ogres and monsters and I found this manga pretty interesting and of course, because it was my first manga, I totally loved it! The only thing i'm frustrated about is that it's still ongoing but I haven't seen any updates in 5 years now!

If you also would like to tell us about your first manga, don't hesitate to post it in the comments and share your experience with us ^^

The Walking Dead Telltale Game

Ohayō Mina-san!

This post is just a tangent intended to change a bit our routine and I will introduce to you, not an anime nor a manga, but instead a video game which could possibly be one of my favourites if it wasn't for it's duration.

The Walking Dead is an episodic video game and it's first season has won over 90 Game of the Year Awards. The story is tailored by the choices you make and there are different endings to each season.

In season 1, you will be Lee, a history teacher which was in his way to jail because he murdered a person who was in bed with his wife. The apocalypse starts when you are in the police car in it's way to jail.

Lee

Later in episode 1 of season 1, you will meet Clementine, a young girl who was hiding by herself and she will help you killing a zombie which is supposedly her babysitter. I won't tell you anymore because I really don't want to spoil for you the fun to play this 9.5/10 game! The only reason why it isn't 10/10 is because each episode is about 2-3 hours long and episodes are released approximately, every quarter of the year.

Clementine

Season 1 has 5 episodes and a special episode: "400 Days" in which you will play 5 victims of the apocalypse and based on your choices, they could appear in season 2.
Season 2 has only got 2 episodes and the most recent episode, episode 2 "A House Divided," came out a couple of days ago. Episodes 1 in both seasons are free, well at least for Xbox 360, and the others are priced around £3.90 ($6.50).

This post was intended to give you a brief description of the game and introduce it to you Mina-san, and I think that everyone should play it. Everyone. The game is available for Xbox360, Playstation 3, Windows and Mac OS X and the first episode of each season are free so it's worth a try, trust me!

Attack On Titan Season 2 ... or not?

Hello Mina-san!

As many of you already know, Attack On Titan is a great anime. There is no arguing about that, the upcoming review about this super-duper-demonically amazing anime will be episode by episode because there is an immense amount of things that have to be said about this anime and therefore we decided that it will be much simpler to break down the review to the episodes of the anime.

Before the upcoming review, I would like to talk to you about the very anticipated season 2 of Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack On Titan). Attack On Titan it's a fairly new anime which came out in 2013 and is now really popular amongst people who watch anime. It's been quite a long time since there has been a new anime which achieved this degree of popularity in such a short amount of time and with such a small amount of episodes (25 without counting 16.5). We could almost compare Attack On Titan to SAO (Sword Art Online), another incredibly popular and fantastic anime which surely deserves a forthcoming episode by episode review, but I guess that's another story.

I've been doing quite a bit of research in the web and apparently there will be no season 2! Of course, as you might of have guessed, I researched into other websites and I also found that the anime could be in hiatus until the 20th volume of the manga, which will be the last one, is released. Now I don't want you to take this information for granted because the beautiful net is filled with a huge amount of bullshit.

To tell you more about the hiatus, the creators DO want to make a season 2 and expressed their eagerness to make a second season but there hasn't been any official release date or any official plans made yet. The creators said that they will wait until the manga finishes before thinking about a second season for Attack On Titan and at the moment, there are currently 12 volumes from what I know and thus only 8 left before the manga ends.

If you want my sincere opinion, I think that it would be such a waste not to continue with anime because nowadays we need something a bit more different than the usual mainstream anime/manga and I would also love to see the ending of Attack On Titan.
If the creators do continue with a season 2 this could totally turn the tide and bring Attack On Titan back in the top 3-5 or could just turn into a disaster because like most anime that have been in hiatus, the plot could have lost its momentum.

I really wish for a second season for Attack On Titan and hopefully a third. Soon there will be a detailed review that you will be able to read in Baka-Topics about this fantastic anime and also about other anime or manga which deserve a place in our hall of fame.

Top 3 Saddest Manga Character Deaths

Hey Mina-san!

If you didn't know, Minna-san means everyone and I will make sure to add it to the upcoming glossary of Japanese words what you might encounter in this freshly made blog.

Leaving that apart, I will now get down to business: here is a list of my top 3 saddest manga deaths, in which a character heroically dies and leaves the stage. Some of these deaths are actually really sad and one of them was so unexpected that it almost brought me to tears! Can you believe it! This is just another example of how well plotted and written can Manga be, so if you are not a reader as passionate as I am, you should at least give it a try!

3.  Goku (Dragon Ball)

Goku sacrifices to kill Raditz.

I'm certain that most of you have heard of Dragon Ball and of Goku (If not check the Manga here). In this action packed Manga and also in the Anime, Goku dies in a fight against his brother, Raditz. I have to say that Dragon Ball was a fantastic Manga which really caught the reader in the heat of the battle and I dare say, is almost a legend now, but that isn't the reason why I chose in this meticulously planned Top 3.

Goku's death was meaningful. He sacrificed himself to kill Raditz, which turns out to be his brother, in chapter 204 "The Needs of the Many." He died like a hero, putting the welfare of other people before his own. He deserves 3rd place for sure! R.I.P Goku T_T

2. Kazuma Saji (Eden No Ori)

Saji's last words Eden No Ori chapter 82.
Eden No Ori is probably not as known as Dragon Ball and other Manga giants such as Naruto, Bleach and One Piece but this doesn't mean that it's not as good. I seriously loved this Manga and I recommend you to read it! Now! (You can read it here

Kazuma Saji is one of the main characters which we meet in the early chapters and dies in chapter 82 "Long Good-by." His death was one of the saddest Manga character deaths ever. Saji died after he saved the girl he loved and when love between them was just about to bloom. After rescuing the girl Saji fell for, everyone decides to escape from the forest and  the characters all march in a straight line and Saji offers to close the line. A few chapters earlier, Saji hits a tree and the sharp branches stab him. Like Goku, Saji dies as a hero without anyone knowing and decided not to tell the group that he is wounded because he doesn't want see the girl he loves cry. Definitely deserves the 2nd place in this Top 3.

1. Whitebeard (One Piece)

Whitebeard's death in One Piece chapter 576.

Ranked first we have Edward Newgate, in other words Whitebeard, who dies in chapter 576 "The Great Pirate, Edward Newgate" of One Piece. Now, you must be thinking "Wait! He is not even a main character!" Well, allow me to explain.

First of all, Whitebeard is just a total badman, badass character or whatever you wish to call him. I mean, Whitebeard endured 267 blade wounds, 152 bullets and withstood 46 cannonballs, respect! I challenge you to find a character equally strong in life and in death, I mean it!  The second reason is because he died standing and there were no wounds of cowardice in his back, which means that he died by fighting it all out fair and square, like a hero should die.

Edward Newgate is a character which I will talk to my children about and I would a like a moment of silence for this great hero's death. This is definitely the saddest Manga character death to me.

My Top 3 Saddest Manga Character Deaths ends here, if you have any other character deaths which really struck you make sure to share it in the comments!
