Glossary of Japanese words you might come across in Baka-Topics.

  • Baka: fool, stupid, idiot
  • Aho: idiot, fool (it's not really considered rash in Japan)
  • Nani?: what?
  • Konichiwa: roughly means hello
  • Sayonara: good bye
  • Yamete: stop it
  • Matte!: wait!
  • Chotto: a little (a moment in some cases)
  • Naze?: why?
  • Mina: everyone, everybody
  • Ohayō: good morning 
  • Gozaimashita/Gozaimasu: very much
  • Arigatō: thanks, thank you
  • Konbanwa: good evening
  • Onegai: please
  • Konnichiwa: hello/good afternoon
  • Moshi Moshi: hello (used when you answer the telephone/mobile)
  • Sayonara: good bye
  • Oyasuminasai: good night
  • Manga: Japanese comic books
  • Anime: Japanese cartoons and television animation
  • Otaku: a person who is obsessed and fanatic about something
  • Kowai: Scary
  • Sugoi: Awesome/Cool
  • Kawaii: Cute
